You should be trying out a Power RS tire if you’re looking to put an extraordinarily sticky high-end street tire on your machine. Michelin is currently cranking these out for a variety of bikes. We see these typically on sports and sport standard type of motorcycles.
So we’re gonna see these surely on the 600 and 1000 CC category of bikes. You will see these on some smaller motorcycles too. This is gonna be a lovely well used tire. Michelin is obviously covering the game with their sizes all the way up to the big brawlers. For those of you who are riding around on Ducati Diavol’s, sometimes tire options could be a little bit short for you. But Michelin has you covered. Now if you’re looking into a Power RS tires, you should know that is competing against any other tire on the market like Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 or Metzlers. This thing is gonna shine because it brought plenty and tons of dry grip wear.
Michelin as you might know, surely makes plenty of tires. This want to get geared in the direction of the high-end street tire market. These tires were meant for super grip street and Michelin has gotten one of these sticky tire fairly by means of two types of technology they applied. First, is their ACT technology : Adaptive Casting Technology. So what Michelin is basically doing through this technology, is taking some body plies and reduce the bias on them. And it actually got them to a zero bias. This makes the tread of the tire very soft, very compliant.
They also made those plies come up under the sidewall into like origami, folding basically double back. This means that the sidewalls of these tires are very stiff. What you get in the end, is a mixture of great feel but also a solid feeling tire underneath you. This will make you fell in control of the tire all the time. Now, couple that up to with their 2 CT technology. If you’re not familiar with the concept, then you should know it refers to their dual compound work. You could look at the center stripe of the tire. What Michelin does is build this whole tire with a very soft rubber. You will see it on the sides. They give you excellent grip, just the right adhesion when you’re in the corners.
In addition of that, what they do with this technology is they put a stripe of a harder rubber on top of the softer one. So this will help you not wear out your tire when you are cruising down the road without getting crazy lean over or when you are doing a bit of highway mileage. The other cool thing about laying a harder rubber on top of a softer rubber, is that as this tire starts to wear and you also lose a few of your tread on here, you will still have a sticky rubber underneath. So when the harder rubber wears away and you are losing a little bit of your tread, you still have the benefit of a softer rubber underneath, a softer compound serving to you adhere well to the street.
Now that you have learned all the beautiful features of these tires, we are pretty sure you can’t wait to have a set of these underneath you. Check them out now!
