The Michelin Pilot Power 2 CT it is a dual compound tire. Like the other tires in its class, it has a heart patch down the center for long wearing straight line riding and a bit stickier patch on the side. This is definitely a brilliant tire if you wish to have a tire that is not gonna fail you.
The carcass of this tire is medium stiff. It is just a little bit softer than the Bridgestone and a little bit stiffer than the Pirelli. This tire it is great for the track. It doesn’t get heat cycles. It does not turn up purple on you, evolves up nice and it is very predictable. These nice features make this tire perfect for the track, perfect for the road. It’s also a great rain tire. Out of the three sport rain tires that we can suggest, this one is a piece we could put our knee down on this tire. We admire this tire even though it has a number of things you should pay attention to.
The front tire is also a dual compound. However the front tire suffers from time to time from scalping. You will have to watch your tire very carefully or otherwise you could run into some scalping issues and that can occur in as little as 1000km.
So if you do run the Power 2 CT make sure you watch your pressures religiously or else you get some scalping problems. However besides that, this is a wonderful tire. We do recommend it. It is worth it. As far as the wear, you will get a little longer wear that you do from the Pirelli. We recommend this tire if you will do street or track, this is a great tire.
