We’re gonna break down the Dunlop Road Sport 2. So the main change that you’re gonna notice between the Road Sport and the Road Sport twos is that the compound is slightly different it’s a natural compound Dunlop really doesn’t get into what they’ve changed but they are claiming better grip in both wet and dry conditions what we really like about this tire is that for a set you’re coming in just over the 200 our price point fronts are gonna run you around $79 and then getting up into the rear the most expensive rear is coming in around 122 dollars so again you can get a set for your sport or sport naked for a little over 200 dollars now let’s just talk about that for a second these are only available in 17-inch sizes so again think sport bikes think sport nakeds probably something on a little bit of the lower displacement side
Is Dunlop RoadSport a great commuting tire?
I know these are stock tires on the Kawasaki Ninja 650 now we say that because this is a great commuting tire it’s great for if you want to you know push the limits a little bit on the back roads on a Sunday afternoon but you’re gonna see about maybe 5,000 miles out of a rear 4,500 to 5,000 miles out of a rear on a side of these if you want to bump up if you are someone that rides more aggressively on your bike you would bump up from this to something like the q3 plus the q3 plus you’re probably looking around 3,000 to 3,500 miles out of a rear but it is a much more aggressive sporty tire the price is going to bump up there as well if you are looking for more mileage in more of a sport touring capacity again slightly better grip improve mileage you’d be looking at something like the road smart threes from Dunlop but again you’re now going to be looking at a higher price point as well.
For those of you out there that are not pushing your bike too hard that are riding you know a sports style bike that is using 17 inch rims you’re commuting mostly maybe a little bit of a fun spirited ride in the weekends this is an excellent option considering the fact that you will get about 5,000 miles out of a rear so more mileage than what you get with an aggressive sport tire and you’re still going to have excellent wet and dry grip it’s just not a tire that I would throw on if I was doing occasional track days with the three plus you can easily take that tire to track again this is something that’s really aimed at commuting and you know some light sport riding maybe you back road riders in the weekend but you will see a new tread pattern you will see that new compound from Dunlop so again a little bit more mileage better grip in wet and dry conditions in the previous version and the best part about this is for those of you that are going through tires on a regular basis in a commuting style you can get tires for around $200 for set of this.
