These are a do all type of a tire. So Continental has revamped the Sport Attack 3 right here and there’s a couple technologies that they’ve constructed on this tire. We will go through some of the significant ones. The first one is multi grip technology. The big rage is to use multiple compounds of rubber within a tire. Usually we see in tires a harder rubber down the center and the softer stuff out to the sides. This could be a nice technique to get decent mileage as well as excellent grip out of a tire. However, the less pleasant thing with this, is that the transition from the soft rubber into the rough rubber or rough rubber into the soft rubber will also be sort of abrupt. Continental does not do this. They use multi grip technology.
They use a single compound throughout the entire tire. In order to get those distinct hardness’s and softness Continental has used different cure times and temperatures for the core of the tread as well as out to the edges. So with varying the temperature and the time that these tires are curing, Continental is able to get that grip on the edges with mileage onto the center, without that transitional feel between compounds of rubber.
One of the other technologies is something they’re calling grip limit feedback technology. In order to understand the idea behind this concept is good to know that on a tire that is not a pure track tire, that tire might let go as you begin to quite get that thing over into a turn. And you are not going to feel it reaching the limit of its grip. The Continental Sport Attack 3 however is giving you lots of feedback and lets you know before the tire is giving up traction on you. So this technology put into this tire is sort of a breakthrough.
As far as profile aspect of the tire, you will notice this profile is just not super aggressive. It is not a V-shape type of profile. It can be a little bit flatter than that, almost like a U-shape. So what that suggests for you is that is not going to offer that twitchy feel. You will need to use more steerage effort. But you should know that this is going to be a proper tire for street use. It is not gonna give you that hesitation, that bizarre feeling of falling into the turns. We are pretty excited for the Sport Attack 3. We hope this tire will fit your driving style.
