Introduction: A Rider’s Perspective on Bridgestone Battlax RS10 Racing Street Tires
Hello everyone, I’m excited to share a rider’s perspective review of the village-down Bridgestone Battlax RS10 Racing Street tires. Mounted on my 2016 model, I’ve now clocked a thousand miles on this bike. This includes one track day that we just wrapped up. In this review, I’ll delve into my firsthand experience, shedding light on the tire’s performance, longevity, and other crucial aspects.
A Deep Dive into Mileage
A paramount question for many riders: “How many miles can the Bridgestone Battlax RS10 Racing Street tire endure?” After completing a thousand miles, I’ve observed that the tire is holding up exceptionally well. The center shows no significant signs of wear, preserving its structural integrity. The edges do tell a different tale, especially on the right. This is mainly attributable to the nature of Donington Park, which predominantly features right-hand turns. Despite this, I believe there’s enough tread left for another track day.
However, I’m leaning towards using these tires exclusively for road rides moving forward, aiming to capitalize on their remaining lifespan.
Road Performance Insights
For the riders considering this Bridgestone model, I can confidently state that its performance on roads has been top-notch. The ride quality it offers is predictable and reassuring. However, a small point of contention is their warming time. They take a tad longer to reach the optimal temperature compared to the supercorsa SP tires. This trait carried onto the track as well. While the supercorsa SP gets up to temperature in roughly one lap, the RS10 requires a more extended warm-up phase. Regardless, once they’re heated, they perform splendidly. Observing the wear pattern, I’m pleased to note the tire has retained a rounded profile, suggesting it’s primed for another 800 miles or so on the road.
Track vs. Road: Where They Shine
While both track and road rides provide unique challenges for any tire, the Bridgestone Battlax RS10 Racing Street tires have showcased versatility. On the track, their extended warm-up time is a minor inconvenience, but their grip and stability once warmed are undeniable. On roads, they’ve proved to be reliable companions, offering a predictable ride every time. Their longevity is another commendable feature, ensuring riders get value for their investment.
Assessing the Middle Section: Life and Longevity
When it comes to the longevity of a tire, the middle section plays a pivotal role. I’ve observed that the central section of this tire retains a significant amount of life. Contrary to what many might assume, it hasn’t flattened off. In fact, the performance I’ve observed since these tires were installed on hour one has been stellar. Even after clocking around six to seven hundred miles, the condition has remained commendable. However, I’ve always believed in treating my equipment with care, and up until today, I’ve ridden this tire delicately.
Performance Comparison: Bridging Familiar Brands with New Entrants
Is this tire superior to other track-day sports tires? That’s a tough question. My experience predominantly lies with two familiar brands. However, when assessing the performance of these tires, I can confidently say they’ve met the mark admirably. On track, they’re nothing short of excellent. Granted, they require a warm-up period, spanning about two laps, but once they reach their operational temperature, they offer dependability, a remarkable grip, and most importantly, predictability. The wear pattern further attests to their robustness.
Deciphering the Wear Pattern
A close look at the wear pattern reveals some intriguing findings. On the right side, a distinct band runs uniformly, which can be attributed to the slide control mechanism. This wear isn’t due to the tire itself, a point evident when observing the left side which showcases a more even wear. Given that there are only a few significant left turns compared to the right ones on Donington, the wear pattern seems justified.
Despite this uneven wear, the tire offers an impeccable ability to settle into corners. It provides a feeling of being ‘planted’, lending a rider the confidence to push the limits. Today, with the bike’s traction control set to one, and frequent slide control interventions, the tire performed spectacularly. It worked harmoniously with the bike’s systems, likely contributing to what I suspect might be my lap record with these tires today. However, one caveat is the slightly asymmetrical wear, especially on the right. This is largely due to the track’s nature, but it implies the tire might be approaching its end after one more track day.
Re-Purchase Considerations: Bridgestone Battlax RS10 Racing Street Tire
When considering whether to repurchase the Bridgestone Battlax RS10 Racing Street tire, several factors come into play. The most significant determinant is the price. If the Super Corsa or SPV twos are priced similarly, my inclination would be to opt for them over the Bridgestone Battlax. However, if the latter comes with a noticeable discount, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose it again. They’ve performed exceptionally today, and my confidence in their capabilities is solid.
Given that I categorize myself as an intermediate rider, I believe these tires have the potential to serve faster riders with equal proficiency. A seasoned rider might even push them to record-breaking paces. For me, as a self-proclaimed intermediate, the Bridgestone Battlax RS10 has emerged as quite the champion.
Durability Analysis: Front versus Rear
The front tire impresses with its longevity. It showcases even wear and seems to have plenty of life left, probably sufficient for another thousand miles or so.
Interestingly, even if the back tire wears out, I could foreseeably replace just the rear and continue using the existing front. This strategy could align the wear-out timings of the front and a second rear, optimizing costs and performance.
From a cost perspective, purchasing another rear Bridgestone might be a more economical choice than investing in a new pair of Super Corsas. Moreover, based on my experience, I’d be content replacing the rear as needed.

Concluding Thoughts
In retrospect, the Bridgestone Battlax RS10 Racing Street tire has indeed surpassed my expectations, striking a balance between performance and durability. Its versatility for both track and street usage makes it a notable contender in the tire market. While brand loyalties and price points will always play a role in purchase decisions, real-world experiences, like mine, often provide the most valuable insights.
